This data contains features that represent the stormwater drainage basins in the City of Grants Pass. A common method for managing stormwater is a basin, basins are meant to collect stormwater and slowly release it at a controlled rate so that downstream areas are not flooded or eroded.
Stormwater from the City of Grants Pass generally drains into six receiving streams: Jones Creek, Skunk Creek, Gilbert Creek, Fruitdale Creek, Allen Creek, and Sand Creek. All water eventually drains to the Rogue River. In this layer, the polygons indicate the total area that drains into their given creek or the Rogue River. This layer is used as a means of understanding stormwater directional flow and thus maintenance that needs to occur in each basin or creek.
Stormwater Master Plan - Chapter 2 (2.3 Stormwater Basins)
Streets & Drainage Division Website
City of Grants Pass Stormwater Utility Website
